Hi, I’m Andy
My journey in psychology began during my senior year of high school when a friend introduced me to a book on human behavior—an encounter that sparked a lifelong fascination with understanding the human mind. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Northridge, where I conducted research under Dr. Stefanie Drew in the VISN Lab, a cognitive psychology lab focused on visual perception, learning, and technology. While this experience provided a strong foundation in scientific research, I soon realized that my passion lay in working directly with people rather than in a research setting.
To integrate both the scientific and spiritual dimensions of human experience, I pursued a dual master’s degree in theology and psychology at Dallas Theological Seminary. I went on to complete two full clinical residency programs in leading academic and research hospitals as a clinical chaplain. During my second residency, I served on the neurology unit, collaborating closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and interdisciplinary medical teams to support patients and families through complex medical challenges.
I later completed my clinical training as a psychotherapist within a premier counseling group, providing confidential and evidence-based care to a diverse range of clients, including members of the celebrity community. My current areas of specialization include working with high-achieving individuals experiencing imposter syndrome, as well as treating obsessive-compulsive disorder/ health anxiety and addressing issues related to sexual health and intimacy.
When I’m not doing therapy, I enjoy traveling with my wife, lifting weights, working on cars, playing music, and most importantly spending time at church.
